Bowstring Truss Reinforcement Proceeding On Schedule


The site is one of the eleven original buildings and one very large hangar constructed by Howard Hughes for his growing aviation enterprise during WW2. The buildings housed his operation when he moved from Glendale. The massive hangar has been utilized by the film industry for years for such features as Aviator and Titanic. This building, now unoccupied is being renovated.

Tim McCarthy P.E. developed the engineered reinforcement process for the reinforcement of the bowstring trusses on this project.

Kingston, NY, Roof Reinforcement Project Completed On Schedule

The retailer is installing a total 18 new HVAC units on the roof of this upstate New York location. "The amount of the roof reinforcement was rather extensive at this particular location," said Tim McCarthy P.E. "It is a somewhat older structure with a steel joist configuration that hasn't been used for quite some time in the US." Mr. McCarthy went on to explain that the top and bottom chords were a "hat shaped bent steel configuration" and the webs were a "split half pipe". The project, completed the night of October 14, took all five days as scheduled.

Anchorage Alaska Retailer Adding New Roof Mounted HVAC

Tim McCarthy P.E. has been contracted to provide roof reinforcement services in Anchorage Alaska. The work will be performed entirely at night. "The store is currently operational, open for business," said Tim McCarthy P.E. "Therefore all of our work will be performed at night. We remain completely invisible to our client's customers." The work is scheduled to be completed October 26.

The work is performed overnight, 100%. "Ultimately, it's all about customer care, customer service," said Tim McCarthy P.E. "The Retailer is installing upgraded HVAC. Why? To provide an excellent customer experience, of course!". Tim McCarthy P.E. provides roof refeinforcement services in all 50 states. "The new HVAC requires a structural engineering sign off that the roof will be okay years from now handling the weight. That's why we are here. The customers are in the store during the day, so our crews work at night. We are completely invisible to our client's customers."
The Huntsville store required reinforcements for multiple HVAC conditions. The work was completed in two nights.

Mt. Pleasant, SC, Roof Structure Stengthening Project

This local retail store is installing new HVAC equipment on the roof Tuesday and Wednesday this week. To insure the structural adequacy of the supporting roof, the retailer contracted with Tim McCarthy P.E.
On a moment's notice, Tim McCarthy P.E. sent a trained structural inspection team to the site "to determine precisely the structural parameters," said Tim McCarthy P.E. "Many such buildings no longer have construction drawings available, therefore the necessity of a site inspection."
Tim McCarthy P.E. completed the structural analysis, which determined that in in several locations structural reinforcements would be necessary.
The construction crews have been qualified and scheduled. Their work will be done Monday night, in time for the HVAC installation.

Tim McCarthy P.E. Contracted for Rush Reinforcement Engineering In Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina

The new HVAC equipment is scheduled for installation September 20. The crews are scheduled, the store management is scheduled, the crane is scheduled. Has the structural engineering been completed rof the roof certification? The call came to Tim McCarthy P.E. late this afternoon. "Not to worry," said Tim McCarthy, "we'll get it done on time.". As of this post, structural site inspections are scheduled for the 15th, engineering the 16th and reinforcement crews, if necessary, are scheduled for the 18th and 19th. The combination of in-house engineers and regional inspectors and installers enable Tim McCarthy P.E. to service all areas of the country on short notice.

Lincoln, Nebraska, PetSmart Roof Reinforcement Completed

Tim McCarthy's crews worked overnight last night and completed the installation of the reinforcements to render the roof structure safe to carry the new HVAC equipment the tenant has been needing. "Our crews typically arrive an hour before the store close down," said Chris, foreman with the Nebraska crew. "We walk the store with the store manager, explain the entire process and particularly the merchandise safety and protection program, and then get to work. Some stores can take several night to get the work complete, but this one we completed ahead of schedule."

Structural Engineering Analysis Completed For New Roof Mounted HVAC Equipment

TR2, The Roof Reinforcer, Inc.,, is pleased to announce the completion of it's contract to provide for structural support of new and upgraded HVAC equipment at this busy retail center in Springfield, Virginia. Eight units in all are being replaced or added on the roof top. The existing roof structure is a standard metal deck and steel joist system, manufactured in accordance with SJI standards at the time. All work, inspections and labor and materials, were performed at night. "Customer service is paramount in The Roof Reinforcer mind," said the TR2 superintendent. "Our endeavor is to be invisible to the customer, to work and keep our work area clean so as our Client's customer does not even ever know we were there working."

Tim McCarthy P.E. Completes Structural Inspection And Analysis For Nebraska Retail Center

This Lincoln Nebraska center is anticipating the installation of new HVACs before the Christmas season. Tim McCarthy P.E., a leading supplier of turnkey structural engineering services, has been contracted to facilitate the city approval of the the structure for the new and improved equipment. The company reports that the one section has been completed and submitted to the Owner. The report indicates that the structure will require reinforcements in order to support the equipment contemplated by the owner.
Tim McCarthy P.E. will supply labor and materials as required to complete the reinforcements necessary to safely support the new equipment.
